Finn’s Manga Review: The World God Only Knows
I’d like to start off by saying that I find much manga of the romance genre to be predictable and uninteresting.They reuse the same character archetypes over and over. The plots unfold in a pattern and even the jokes seem overused. However, the formulaic nature of romance manga and dating sim games is the very essence of Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai’s humor. The World God Only knows is a funny manga about an obsessive dating simulation otaku named Katsuragi Keima. Keima is known as the “capturing god” for his amazing aptitude for winning in his favorite type of games. He is so obsessed with these games that he has grown to hate all girls in the real world as he considers them inferior to sim girls in every way. The story starts in hell where rumors of the capturing god have been distorted into the idea that Keima can win the heart of real girls. So a female demon, Elsee, is sent to enforce a contract Keima has mistakenly made to capture rebellious spirits that have escaped from hell and dwell within the hearts of teenage girls. The only way to save the girls is to make them fall in love, oh and Keima has a bomb around his neck so if he refuses he is dead. Despite the plot being a little strange the events in the manga unfold in the painfully predictable way that I complained about earlier. Every adventure begins with Elsee and Keima encountering one of those archetypal girls, in one story they have to help a total tsundere type girl, and then Keima is able to predict exactly how the story unfolds using his sim dating skills. The manga is actually quite amusing at times, and if you are a fan of romance manga then this one may be just what you are looking for. I enjoyed seeing an antisocial otaku tortured by an inept demon in an effort to force him to do the very thing he hates most, but even with decent comedic elements I can only give the script a barely above average 3.5/5.
The artwork in this manga is, as you might expect, based off of Japanese sim games. The primary focus is on character profiles and the backgrounds seem a little neglected. Keima is illustrated quite well in that the art shows his distinctive personality, truthfully he may be the only distinct character. His mannerism borders on evil-maniacal, but that seems to fit well somehow. The overall art is done with a good level of skill, though the backgrounds seem a little plain in comparison to the excellent character art. There is heavy usage of super-deformed characters for both action and expression, but it is a comedy so I don’t really mind too much. Well, had the art been a little more consistent then I would have rated it higher then 3.5/5.

Well while messing around with my myspace profile because I am cool like that… ok ok fine its not cool but it made me want to do some anime reviews. So I decided to do a review of a show I haven’t reviewed yet and what show is that? Well look at the title and if you still haven’t guessed well too bad you will figure it out sooner or later. Maybe the pictures will give it away or me mentioning a certain word over and over again but I am sure you guys will figure it out. Ok I am still struggling with my Heroes addiction so eventually I will be 100% heroes free and no I am not talking about Heroes the tv series. I am talking about Heroes the Myspace/facebook app its not even close to my bleach addiction or my manga addiction but still its a addiction. Well lets continue with this because you guys don’t want for me to talk about that crappy game seriously whyyyyyyyy me.
DESCRIPTION SECTION
Ok since this is a Gundam series the Description is going to fluctuate to being really easy to being quite the pain in the ass for me anyways. Well in this episode of Gundam 00 The A team or whatever they are called that’s my new name for them have attacked the rebel base on the last episode and now everyone is blaming Celestial being for ratting them out. There’s some flashbacks to Mrs Sumeragi’s past and the real culprit behind the Rebel base assault is found out. Ok the description for this sucks and that is because I don’t feel in the mood to talk about all the complicated stuff that goes on in this series. Here is what happened in simple terms though bad guys attack the rebel base and everyone thinks that celestial being told A-laws or A team where their base is. Mrs Sumeragi after seeing the carnage that followed fainted which brought about a flash back. I think that’s a good enough description without spoiling anything so enjoy this spoiler free Gundam description.
REVIEW SECTION
Ok just because its hard to describe doesnt mean I cant review it that part is a easy part so lets begin with the music because I havent begun a review with the music yet so…. The opening is called “Hakanaku mo Towa no Kanashi (儚クモ永久のカナシ) Fleeting and Everlasting Sorrow)” by UVERworld which isnt bad but a bit dull. The ending theme is “Prototype” by Chiaki Ishikawa which I thought was a bit better but still a bit on the dull side but overall the music isnt bad. The visuals are nice and shiny except the stuff they dont want to be shiny and during the scenes they don’t want to look bright. I happen to like the way the gundams look but the children in this series seem to have giant heads compared to their bodies. Well other than that minor complaint I actually liked the visuals in this episode. The plot in this episode barely progressed from the previous episode but there are a few things that happened in this episode towards the end that does make me want to continue watching this series. I cant tell you or I would spoil it for you but you could say that there was some giant robot fights in this episode for sure. Well overall this episode could have been better but I have to give this episode a 4/5 I was seriously thinking about giving it a 3.5 but it was good enough to earn a 4/5. Wow I only said Gundam like 3 times heck I thought I would have said it much more considering what it is that I am reviewing but then again this episode was a slight pain to describe.Ok the embedded video might not say Gundam but its what it is.

RAMBLING SECTION
Holy crap a new review I am flabbergasted yes that was a big word and its spelled correctly so I am proud of myself sorta anyways. There’s quite a few different reasons why I haven’t been doing reviews lately such as a slight Heroes Myspace app addiction. Well addiction isn’t quite right more like I play that while waiting for new anime/manga and now I’m level 102 and growing FYI I am Anime Reviewed obviously. I have no idea why I am playing that as much as I have but don’t worry I am back to my reviewing so everyone stay calm. You probably wonder what happened to the bleach 191 and 192 reviews well there’s a long story behind that so don’t expect them to come before this post since I have a weird picture problem.
DESCRIPTION SECTION
This episode is all about Renji and Uryuu fighting against Szayel Aporro the 8th Espada who uses some very underhanded attacks when he fights. Renji and Uryuu have finally figured how to defeat their clones but then Szayel pulls a even dirtier trick voodoo dolls. Yes you heard right he uses voodoo dolls where he can hit you where it really hurts, your organs. That’s almost all that happened in this episode besides a small recap and Renji and Uryuu trying to take down their clones wow almost wrote clowns sad huh.
REVIEW SECTION
Well this episode is all about Renji and Uryuu not my favorite characters but they are pretty good at comedic relief which isn’t bad either. I happen to like laughing its another reason I enjoy bleach, for the laughs so this episode wasn’t bad in my books. I would have enjoyed more action but I am sure that real soon there will be plenty of action coming our way. There wasn’t anything new with this episode but I did find it funny why Szayel put pants on pesche and got rid of whats his faces spots. Overall nothing spectacular plot wise hell was there much plot progression I don’t think there was really but there will be next episode but not this one. I guess I have to give Bleach 193 a 3.5/5 because there was no plot progression,cool fights,and not much humor but wasn’t terrible.Watch it if you want to see goofing off and other random hi-jinks by Renji and his gang of misfits.

Finally Settled In
Well with all the annoyance we have gone through finding a decent host for our site, the search is finally over.
We chose our new host v9host.com. Thanks to them once again. Hopefully our hosting trouble is done with.
Katimusha and I, BiggityB are preparing reviews for Tora Dora, Bleach, and many of your other favorites.
We have also formed a partnership with Anime Sanction. More details will be revealed later on what that entails. So check out their site and register for the forum there.

Election Update
THE WINNER OF THE ELECTION IS?
Just to let you know it was Barack Obama and not superman who became president last night because it might be a little hard to tell the two apart at the moment.

Election and Site News
If for some reason you havent noticed that there is a election going on well there is and hopefully you voted unless you are too young to vote. Well I will make sure to keep anybody up to date on the winner of the presidential election since it affects everybody so when I know you guys will know. Actually i might not but if I cant keep you guys up to date maybe Biggity or Finn will keep you guys in the loop.

In other unrelated news the site is finally fixed yay but once again trouble rears its fugly head at Anime Reviewed it seems we need a new host we go through hosts like they are nothing. Man we seem to have the worst luck with hosts its almost too amazing really how our luck is with bad hosts.
In other more un related news I will be doing some reviews real soon starting with bleach 193 when its subbed so keep a eye out. I havent been able to do many reviews for several reasons Halloween, Site stuff, Heroes addiction, Other misc crap, and a side project which I dont think I will talk too much about right now. Not quite sure why but I have been playing the Myspace app heroes way too much so I need to take a break from that game and do some anime reviews.
Sorry about the pictures of the candidates if you are offended just let us know and we might do something about it but most likely not.
Another Update
Currently, we are moving our site to yet another host. Very soon we will be back to our regular momentum of posting reviews and information on your favorite anime. Well here I am writing a review at 3:49 AM Eastern time after playing some risk with some of my friends who happen to be half drunk so I decided that this would be a great time for a review. Ok this isn’t a great time for a review but it doesn’t matter too much since I am loosing to some drunks in risk and this just happened to be a good excuse to not look silly. Other than that I really don’t have much to talk about unfortunately so looks like this will be a extremely short Rambling section not like you guys mind much.
DESCRIPTION SECTION
This will be the hardest Description Section that I have written as to the fact that I am confused as to what is going on at the moment. But here is the best that I can describe it:
Takumi is shocked and confused to the sudden appearance of a girl named Rimi who he happened to have seen kill someone in the alleyway. Apparently she and him have been friends for quite a while or so everyone says and there’s even pictures to back it up. The only thing is he has never seen her before the alleyway incident and he believes that she is just another one of his delusions. Also the police force have figured out that it was a Suimei Academy student that committed the new gene murders or at least the latest one. But they think it was a male 15-20 years old who committed the murders because they seen Takumi run from the alley with one of the murder weapons in hand. Lucky for Takumi they don’t know what his face looks like so they don’t know which student committed the murders besides a male from Suimei Academy. Takumi also goes shopping with the stalker Yua who wants to go to a anime/manga shop not quite sure what it is but I cant go too much further into this so no spoilers for you.
REVIEW SECTION
Yes this episode left me with way more questions that answers actually I don’t think it answered any questions at all. I have no idea if the plot has progressed because I’m pretty confused to whats going on but I think its progressed a bit mainly at the end of the episode. I cant tell you about it but it might answer about 1 question and that’s about it but it also opens up a lot more questions that I hope the next couple episodes answer. Something I forgot to mention in the previous review is the opening and ending theme songs which I doubt that the openings animation is telling me the truth but I may be wrong. The opening theme is “F.D.D” by Kanako Ito which isn’t that bad of a song even though I never heard of Kanako Ito. Then there the ending song which is called ”Super Special” and its by Kagami Seira which sadly makes me want to sing along to it so I guess I enjoy it. So i enjoyed the music that Chaos Head brings to the table so that’s a plus but the complicated story doesn’t raise or lower the score because I still am not sure if its brilliant or insane. So I guess I give Chaos Head episode 2 a 3.5/5 because I have to say the confusing story is not a plus but it is quite a interesting series. I am still debating whether to change my score and make it a 4/5 and say the story is good but I think I will just leave it as a 3.5 unless someone can give me at least 3 reasons why I should raise it to a 4/5. Remember to leave some comments discussing the episode or my review which ever one you you feel like hell both is fine. I have also encluded the episode streaming from veoh so you can get confused just like me.
